Temporary Diversion Road Opened Ahead of Kapuri Bridge Rehabilitation

The National Ministry of Roads and Bridges has opened a temporary bypass road off the damaged Kapuri Bridge in Juba County to maintain traffic flow during vital rehabilitation works.

The National Minister of Roads and Bridges, Peter Lam Both, has formally opened a temporary diversion road off Kapuri Bridge in Luri Payam of Juba County. This arrangement sets the stage for closing the damaged bridge to traffic to allow for remedying the damage. The Minister says the Ministry is to identify a competent construction company to undertake work on the permanent Kapuri Bridge.
Central Equatorial State Minister of Roads and Bridges, Latiyo Paul Abbas says the temporary bypass road will serve road users when work on the temporary bridge commences.
Juba County Commissioner Samuel Emiliano says the County authorities are to provide all necessary support the contractor to accomplish the work on Kapuri Bridge.
The Chief Executive Officer of GS Group of Companies, Girma Shifaro, says the company will work hard to accomplish the maintenance on the damaged Kapuri Bridge within the agreed timeframe.
