The Ministry is committed to improving road safety for all users across South Sudan.

Safety Tips for Drivers

  • Always wear seatbelts and ensure passengers do the same.
  • Observe posted speed limits and adjust for road conditions.
  • Do not drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Avoid using mobile phones while driving.
  • Check vehicle condition before long journeys (tyres, brakes, lights).
  • Exercise caution during rainy season - roads may be slippery or flooded.

Pedestrian Safety

  • Use designated pedestrian crossings where available.
  • Walk facing oncoming traffic on roads without footpaths.
  • Wear visible/reflective clothing at night.
  • Supervise children near roads at all times.
  • Avoid walking on roads while intoxicated.

For emergencies requiring immediate police, medical, or fire response, contact local emergency services. For non-emergency road issues, use the reporting form.
