The Ministry is committed to improving road safety for all users across South Sudan.
Safety Tips for Drivers
- • Always wear seatbelts and ensure passengers do the same.
- • Observe posted speed limits and adjust for road conditions.
- • Do not drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- • Avoid using mobile phones while driving.
- • Check vehicle condition before long journeys (tyres, brakes, lights).
- • Exercise caution during rainy season - roads may be slippery or flooded.
Pedestrian Safety
- • Use designated pedestrian crossings where available.
- • Walk facing oncoming traffic on roads without footpaths.
- • Wear visible/reflective clothing at night.
- • Supervise children near roads at all times.
- • Avoid walking on roads while intoxicated.
