Overview
This Directorate is tasked with testing construction materials, analyzing regional soils (such as expansive clays), and setting technical standards for national highway and bridge projects
Responsibilities
- Material Testing: Evaluates aggregates, asphalt, concrete, and sub-base components for road and bridge durability.
- Geotechnical Investigation: Assesses local soil properties and subgrade conditions to mitigate premature pavement deterioration on problematic terrain.
- Quality Assurance: Inspects construction inputs to ensure compliance with national and regional transport infrastructure standards
